Walmart Haul (08/18): $62 of Product for $6.48 by Stacking 15 Ibotta Rebates Into a $5 Bonus
Nick (OhioValleyCouponer)Walmart
Save 89%A real Walmart haul: 14 items worth $62.34 at original prices, down to $6.48 after rebates. The trick is that a $5 Ibotta bonus required 15 rebate submissions — and buying multiples of the same deal counts toward it, so this haul cleared 15 with only 7 different products.
This one is a real haul, not a theoretical list. Nick walked into Walmart, paid $30.55 at the register, and after rebates landed at $6.48 for $62.34 of product — a savings of $55.86, or 89.61% off.
But the actual lesson here isn't the products. It's how he cleared a $5 Ibotta bonus that required 15 rebate submissions using only 7 different deals.
Most people see "submit 15 rebates" and assume they need to find 15 separate products. You don't. If a rebate has a limit above 1, every time you redeem it counts as another submission toward the bonus. Buy 5 Cheez It multipacks with a limit-5 rebate and that's 5 submissions, not 1. This haul is built on that mechanic, and it hits exactly 15.
The highlights along the way: a $2.00 moneymaker on clearance GoGo Protein Smoothies, a FREE Yoplait, five Cheez It multipacks at $1.25 each, and two Hot Pockets at $0.47 each.
Most of these deals come from our Walmart Deals Breakdown (08/17), so if you want the full list of what's live this week, start there — then come back here for how to stack it into a bonus.

🎯 The Strategy: Clearing 15 Rebates With Only 7 Deals
This is the part worth learning, because it applies to every Ibotta bonus you'll ever get.
Nick had a $5 bonus for completing 15 rebates. Here's how the 15 broke down across just seven products:
| Product | Qty Bought | Rebates It Counted For | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arm & Hammer Liquid Detergent | 1 | 2 | Two different rebates on ONE item — a brand rebate plus a category rebate |
| Arm & Hammer Scent Beads | 2 | 2 | Same rebate redeemed twice |
| GoGo Protein Smoothies | 2 | 2 | Same rebate redeemed twice |
| Cheez It Multipack | 5 | 5 | Same rebate redeemed five times |
| Yoplait Protein Yogurt | 1 | 1 | Single rebate |
| Hot Pocket Snack Breaks | 2 | 2 | Same rebate redeemed twice |
| Taco Bell Seasoning Mix | 1 | 1 | Single rebate |
| TOTAL | 14 items | 15 rebates | Bonus cleared |
Two mechanics did the heavy lifting:
- Multiples count separately. The Cheez It rebate alone delivered a third of the bonus requirement, because buying 5 at a limit-5 offer submits 5 rebates. Check the limit on every offer you clip — that number is your multiplier.
- Two rebates can stack on one item. The Arm & Hammer detergent took a $2 brand rebate AND a $0.10 "Any Laundry Detergent" category rebate on the same bottle. That's two submissions from a single purchase, and it also dropped the net price from $1.84 to $1.74. Always scan the generic category offers — they stack on top of brand offers. > ⚠️ Ibotta bonuses are targeted — check your own app. Nick had a $5 / 15-rebate bonus. Yours may be a different amount, a different rebate count, or you may not have one at all. Open Ibotta and look at your Bonuses tab before you shop, then build your list to clear whatever you actually have. Without the $5 bonus, this same haul costs $11.48 instead of $6.48 — still 81.58% off, but plan around your real offer.
🛒 The Haul
1. 💵 GoGo Protein Fruit Smoothies 4 Count — FREE + $2.00 MONEYMAKER (Buy 2)
- 🟰 Clearance price: $1.00 each ($2.00 for 2)
- 🟠 Submit $2 Ibotta rebate (x2 = $4.00)
- Net Price: FREE + ($2.00) MONEYMAKER for both!
- Counted as 2 rebates toward the bonus > The best play in the haul. $1.00 clearance against a $2 rebate, run twice, means you walk out with two 4-count boxes of protein smoothies and two dollars. This one is clearance-dependent — confirm the $1.00 price at your store, and confirm your Ibotta offer pays a flat $2 rather than capping at the item price.
2. 🆓 Yoplait Protein Yogurt Cup — FREE
- Regular price: $0.97
- 🟠 Submit $0.97 Ibotta rebate
- Net Price: FREE!
- Counted as 1 rebate toward the bonus > An exact-match freebie. The rebate is built to the penny of the shelf price. Grab the Protein cup specifically, not a standard Yoplait.
3. Hot Pocket Snack Breaks 1 Count — $0.47 Each (Buy 2)
- Regular price: $1.47 each ($2.94 for 2)
- 🟠 Submit $1 Ibotta rebate (x2 = $2.00)
- Net Price: $0.94 for both ($0.47 Each!)
- Counted as 2 rebates toward the bonus > Match the size exactly: this is the 1 count Snack Breaks single, not a multipack or a full-size Hot Pocket box. Wrong package, no rebate.
4. Taco Bell Seasoning Mix Packet — $0.69
- Regular price: $0.94
- 🟠 Submit $0.25 Ibotta rebate
- Net Price: $0.69
- Counted as 1 rebate toward the bonus > A cheap, easy bonus filler. Under a dollar out of pocket and it counts as a full rebate submission toward your bonus. When you're one or two short of clearing a bonus, small pantry items like this are exactly what you want.
5. Cheez It Back To School Multipack 10 Count — $1.25 Each (Buy 5)
- 🟰 Clearance price: $2.00 each ($10.00 for 5)
- 🟠 Submit $0.75 Ibotta rebate (x5 = $3.75)
- Net Price: $6.25 for all 5 ($1.25 Each!)
- Counted as 5 rebates toward the bonus 🎯 > This is the bonus engine. One offer with a limit of 5 delivered a third of the entire 15-rebate requirement. At $1.25 for a 10-count multipack, that's about $0.13 per bag — 50 individual snack bags for $6.25. These hit clearance because of the back-to-school packaging, not because anything is wrong with them, so check the date and stock up.
6. Arm and Hammer Liquid Laundry Detergent — $1.74
- Regular price: $3.84
- 🟠 Submit $2 Ibotta rebate
- 🟠 Submit $0.10 Any Laundry Detergent Ibotta rebate
- Net Price: $1.74
- Counted as 2 rebates toward the bonus 🎯 > Two rebates, one bottle. The $2 brand offer and the $0.10 "Any Laundry Detergent" category offer both apply to the same purchase. That extra dime isn't the point — the point is it counts as a second rebate submission toward your bonus for zero additional spend. Look for these generic category offers on everything you buy.
7. Arm and Hammer Scent Beads 24 Oz — $1.93 Each (Buy 2)
- Regular price: $4.93 each ($9.86 for 2)
- 🟠 Submit $3 Ibotta rebate (x2 = $6.00)
- Net Price: $3.86 for both ($1.93 Each!)
- Counted as 2 rebates toward the bonus > Two big 24 oz bottles for under four dollars. Scent beads normally run $5 and up each, and this offer has a limit of at least 2 — so it pulls double duty on price and on bonus progress.
📊 The Full Math

| Taco Bell Seasoning Mix | 1 | $0.94 | $0.25 | $0.69 |

| Register Total | 14 | $30.55 | $19.07 | $11.48 |
| 🎯 Less $5 Ibotta Bonus (15 rebates) | $5.00 | $6.48 |
How the trip actually went:
- At the register you pay $30.55 + tax. Rebates come back after, so bring the full amount.
- $19.07 in Ibotta rebates across 15 submissions brings you to $11.48.
- The $5 bonus for hitting 15 rebates brings the final cost to $6.48.
- Against a $62.34 original-price retail value, that's $55.86 saved — 89.61% off. > Note on the retail value: the $62.34 figure reflects what these 14 items cost at their original, non-sale prices. The prices listed in each deal above are what you'll actually pay at the register this week, including the clearance markdowns on the GoGo and Cheez It.
Rebate Apps You Need for This Haul
- Ibotta — This haul is 100% Ibotta. All 15 rebates and the $5 bonus run through it, worth $24.07 combined on a $30.55 purchase. Cash out to PayPal or Venmo.
- Walmart app — Turn on the barcode scanner. Two of the seven deals are clearance (GoGo, Cheez It), and clearance tags are the least reliable prices in the store. Scan before you commit.
New to Ibotta Bonuses?
Bonuses are where Ibotta stops being pocket change and starts being real money. Here's how to work them:
- Check the Bonuses tab before you shop, not after. Bonuses are targeted and time-limited. You need to know your requirement — 10 rebates, 15 rebates, a specific brand list — before you build your shopping list.
- Read the limit on every offer you clip. An offer with "limit 5" is worth 5 rebate submissions if you buy 5. That's your fastest path to a bonus count.
- Look for category offers that stack on brand offers. "Any Laundry Detergent" for $0.10 stacks on top of the $2 Arm & Hammer offer. Small money, but a full extra submission toward your bonus.
- Use cheap items to close the gap. If you're two rebates short, a $0.94 seasoning packet and a $0.97 yogurt get you there for under two dollars. Don't buy something expensive just to clear a bonus.
- Submit everything before the bonus deadline. Rebates only count toward a bonus once they're submitted and approved. Snap your receipt the same day.
- One receipt can carry many rebates. All 15 submissions in this haul came off a single Walmart trip. You don't need separate transactions for Ibotta.
- Do the math on whether the bonus is worth chasing. A $5 bonus is great when the 15 items are things you'd buy anyway at 80%+ off. It's not worth $20 of products you don't want.
Tips for Running This Haul Yourself
- Start with your own bonus, not this list. Open Ibotta, check what bonus you actually have, then work backward. If you have no bonus, this haul still costs just $11.48 for $62.34 of product — 81.58% off — so it's worth running either way.
- The Cheez It is the single most efficient buy here. Five multipacks for $6.25 gets you 50 snack bags at about $0.13 each and five rebate submissions. Nothing else on the list does that much work.
- The two clearance deals are the risk. GoGo at $1.00 and Cheez It at $2.00 are markdowns, so they vary store to store and disappear fast. If your store doesn't have them, you lose the moneymaker and 7 of your 15 rebate submissions — have backup offers clipped.
- Check for a category rebate on everything in your cart. The $0.10 detergent stack is the kind of thing most people scroll past. It cost nothing extra and it counted as a full submission.
- Bring $30.55 plus tax. Rebate money arrives after the fact. The $6.48 is your final cost, not your checkout cost — don't get caught short at the register.
- Grab the freebies even if you skip everything else. The FREE Yoplait and the $2.00 GoGo moneymaker cost you nothing and take about ninety seconds in the store.
- Everything here except the yogurt keeps. Detergent, scent beads, crackers, seasoning, and Hot Pockets all store fine, which is what makes buying multiples for a bonus sensible rather than wasteful.
