Kroger Deals Breakdown (08/19): 23 Deals With $0.99 Colgate, $0.40 Kool-Aid, a $0.49 Protein Kit, and a 12-Item $0.99 Sale
Kroger is running four promotions at once this week — Weekly Digital Deals, a 12-item $0.99 mix-and-match sale, a Mega Event, and a 5X Digital Event. We verified all 23 deals, including Colgate toothpaste down to $0.99, Kool-Aid at $0.40, Greenfield Protein Kits at $0.49, and Kroger milk at $1.29 a half gallon.
Kroger is running four separate promotions at the same time this week, and that's where the savings are — but it's also where people get tripped up, because each one has its own rules and its own purchase threshold.
We verified all 23 deals. The standouts: Colgate toothpaste down to $0.99 from $3.99, Kool-Aid packets at $0.40, Greenfield Protein Kits at $0.49, Cinnamon Pebbles at $0.99, Kroger milk at $1.29 a half gallon, and a 12-item $0.99 mix-and-match sale covering pantry staples.
No freebies or moneymakers this week, and no BeFrugal offers — this is a straightforward stock-up week rather than a profit week. But the $0.99 Sale and the Mega Event together make it one of the better pantry runs of the month.

📋 Before You Shop: How Kroger's Four Events Work
Read this part before you build your list. The rules are what make or break these prices.
Store coupons vs. manufacturer coupons
This is the single most important distinction at Kroger:
- Store coupons (Weekly Digital Deals, 5X Digital, most "Kroger" digital coupons) can be stacked with a manufacturer coupon and with rebate apps on the same item.
- Manufacturer coupons cannot be combined with another coupon on the same item. > ⚠️ Not every digital coupon in the Kroger app is a store coupon. Some are manufacturer coupons, and if you clip one of those you can't add a second coupon to that item. Check the fine print on each coupon before you plan a stack around it.
The purchase thresholds are separate
Three of this week's four events require you to buy a minimum quantity, and they do not count toward each other:
- $0.99 Sale — needs 5 or more participating items to get $0.99 pricing
- Mega Event — needs 3 or more participating items, or you pay $2 more per item
- 5X Digital / Weekly Digital — no quantity minimum, but each coupon is capped at 5 uses per transaction
Don't assume three Mega items plus two $0.99 items gets you either discount. Count each event's items on their own.
The Mega Event penalty is steep. Every Mega price below assumes you're buying at least 3 participating items. Come up short and each one costs $2 more — which turns the $0.99 Cinnamon Pebbles into $2.99 and wipes out the deal entirely. There are 9 Mega items in this post, so hitting 3 is easy. Just don't forget.
🏆 Best Deals Under $1
Five individual items land under a dollar this week, on top of the entire $0.99 Sale:
| Deal | Net Price | What It Takes |
|---|---|---|
| Kool-Aid Drink Packets | $0.40 | $0.50 sale + $0.10 Ibotta |
| Greenfield Protein Kits | $0.49 | $2.49 sale + $2 Ibotta |
| Colgate Toothpaste | $0.99 | $3.99 + $1 5X store + $2 mfr digital |
| Cinnamon Pebbles Cereal | $0.99 | Mega price $1.99 + $1 Ibotta |
| Pedialyte 16 oz | $0.99 | Weekly Digital Deal, no stack needed |
Best value of the week: the Colgate at $0.99 is a 75% discount off $3.99, and it's the only deal here stacking a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon together.
📅 Weekly Digital Deals
Clip these in the Kroger app or on the website to unlock the price. They're store coupons, so they stack with manufacturer coupons and rebate apps — and each one works up to 5 times in a single transaction.
1. Hostess Multipacks 6-10 Count — $1.74 Each (Buy 2)
- 📅 $1.99 each with Weekly Digital Deal ($3.98 for 2)
- 🟠 Submit $0.50 on 2 Ibotta rebate
- Net Price: $3.48 for 2 ($1.74 Each!) > The Ibotta offer requires 2 units, so buy in pairs. If the offer's limit allows more than one submission, buying 4 could earn the $0.50 twice.
2. Vitafusion Gummy Vitamins — $6.99
- 📅 $9.99 with Weekly Digital Deal
- 📝 Use $3 Manufacturer Digital Coupon
- Net Price: $6.99 > A clean store-plus-manufacturer stack. Note the $3 coupon is a manufacturer digital, so it loads once and comes off once — the $6.99 price applies to one bottle, not five.
3. Pedialyte 16 Oz — $0.99
- 📅 $0.99 with Weekly Digital Deal
- Net Price: $0.99 > No stack required, and the coupon works up to 5 times — so 5 bottles for $4.95. Worth grabbing before anyone in the house gets sick.
4. Campbell's Chunky Soups 16.1 - 19 Oz — $1.49
- 📅 $1.49 with Weekly Digital Deal
- Net Price: $1.49
5. Kroger Peanut Butter 16 Oz — $1.49
- 📅 $1.49 with Weekly Digital Deal
- Net Price: $1.49
6. Red Baron Frozen Pizzas 14.87 - 23.45 Oz — $2.99
- 📅 $2.99 with Weekly Digital Deal
- Net Price: $2.99
💲 The $0.99 Sale — Buy 5, Mix and Match
Buy any 5 or more of the participating items and they're $0.99 each. You can mix and match freely — five different products all count. These are the best items included:
| Item | Size |
|---|---|
| Heinz Yellow Mustard | 14 oz |
| Kraft BBQ Sauce | 18 oz |
| Hunt's Pasta Sauce | 24 oz |
| Early California Sliced Olives | 2.25 oz |
| Pillsbury Frosting / Cake Mix | — |
| Jell-O Pudding / Gelatin Mix | — |
| Kind Protein MAX Bar | — |
| Campbell's Condensed Sauces | 10.5 oz |
| Chef Boyardee Skillet Meals | — |
| Manwich Sauce | — |
| Blue Bonnet Stick Margarine | — |
| Bird's Eye Steamfresh Vegetables | select varieties |
Five items for $4.95. The Kind Protein MAX Bar is the outlier here — those normally run $2.50 to $3 each, so at $0.99 it's the biggest percentage discount in the group. The mustard, BBQ sauce, pasta sauce, and Manwich are the practical stock-up picks since they keep for a year or more.
🎉 Mega Event — Buy 3 or More
Buy any 3 or more participating items, mix and match, to get these prices. Fewer than 3 and every item costs $2 more. There are 9 Mega deals below, so building a qualifying order is easy.
7. Cinnamon Pebbles Cereal — $0.99
- 🎉 $1.99 with Mega Event
- 🟠 Submit $1 Ibotta rebate
- Net Price: $0.99 > Best cereal price of the week. Note the rebate is $1 on Cinnamon Pebbles specifically — the Fruity and Cocoa versions have a smaller $0.50 offer.
8. Fruity Pebbles / Cocoa Pebbles Cereal — $1.49
- 🎉 $1.99 with Mega Event
- 🟠 Submit $0.50 Ibotta rebate
- Net Price: $1.49
9. General Mills Cereal (select varieties) — $1.31 Each (Buy 4)
- 🎉 $1.99 each with Mega Event ($7.96 for 4)
- 🏷️ Use $1 off 2 Digital Coupon
- 🟠 Submit $1 on 2 Ibotta rebate
- 🔵 Submit Fetch Rewards — 1,000 points when you buy 4, worth $0.74 toward a $5 Kroger gift card
- Net Price: $5.22 for 4 ($1.31 Each!) > A four-way stack — Mega price, digital coupon, Ibotta, and Fetch all on one purchase. Buying 4 also knocks out your entire Mega 3-item requirement by itself. > Two things to watch: the $1 off 2 digital coupon and the $1 on 2 Ibotta each come off once in this math even though you're buying 4.
10. Chex Mix 8 Oz / Bugles 7.5 Oz / Gardetto's 8.6 Oz — $1.49
- 🎉 $1.49 with Mega Event
- Net Price: $1.49 > Three brands at one price, and they all count toward your Mega 3-item total. An easy way to round out a qualifying order.
11. Pop Tarts 12 Count — $1.79 Each (Buy 2)
- 🎉 $2.29 each with Mega Event ($4.58 for 2)
- 📄 Use $1 off 2 Printable Coupon
- Net Price: $3.58 for 2 ($1.79 Each!) > You need to print this one before you go — it's not in the Kroger app. Grab it from the Kellanova coupon page.
12. Land O Frost Bistro Favorites Lunchmeat 8 Oz — $1.99 Each (Buy 2)
- 🎉 $2.99 each with Mega Event ($5.98 for 2)
- 🏷️ Use $2 off 2 Digital Coupon

13. Miracle Whip Dressing 30 Oz — $2.74
- 🎉 $3.99 with Mega Event
- 🟠 Submit $1.25 Ibotta rebate
- Net Price: $2.74 > The 30 oz is the large jar — confirm the size, since the rebate is size-specific.
14. Ken's Salad Dressings 24 Oz — $2.99
- 🎉 $2.99 with Mega Event
- Net Price: $2.99
15. Gatorade 20 Oz 8 Pack — $4.99
- 🎉 $5.99 with Mega Event
- 🏷️ Use $1 Digital Coupon
- Net Price: $4.99 > That's about $0.62 per bottle for 20 oz Gatorade, which beats most single-bottle sale prices.
5️⃣ 5X Digital Event
Clip the Kroger "5X Digital Coupon" in the app or on the website. These are store coupons usable up to five times in one transaction, and they stack with manufacturer coupons and rebate apps.
16. Colgate Max Fresh, Total, or Optic White Toothpaste — $0.99
- Regular price: $3.99 (Max Fresh 6.3 oz, Total 3.3-5.1 oz, Optic White 3-3.8 oz)
- 5️⃣ Use $1 5X Digital (store coupon)
- 📝 Use $2 Manufacturer Digital Coupon
- Net Price: $0.99 > The best deal in this post — 75% off. This is exactly why the store-vs-manufacturer distinction matters: the $1 is a Kroger store coupon and the $2 is a manufacturer coupon, so they legally stack on the same tube. > > ⚠️ Don't expect five tubes at $0.99. The $1 5X store coupon can be used five times, but the $2 manufacturer digital loads to your card once and comes off once. So realistically your first tube is $0.99 and additional tubes are $2.99 each — five tubes would run about $12.95, not $4.95. Still a good price on the extras, just not $0.99 across the board. Check your app to see whether the manufacturer coupon allows more than one use. > > Match the size exactly. Only the listed sizes qualify, and Colgate sells these in several tube sizes that look nearly identical on the shelf.
🎁 BOGO Deals
Buy one, get one free. The listed price is what you pay for two items.
17. Hormel Pepperoni 5-6 Oz — $2.00 Each (Buy 2)
- 🎁 $4.99 BOGO (2 for $4.99)
- 🟠 Submit $0.50 Ibotta rebate (x2 = $1.00)
- Net Price: $3.99 for 2 ($2.00 Each!) > The Ibotta offer applies to both packages, so submit it twice.
18. Kroger Apple Juice 64 Oz — $1.50 Each (Buy 2)
- 🎁 $2.99 BOGO (2 for $2.99)
- Net Price: $1.50 Each
19. Kroger Milk ½ Gallons — $1.29 Each (Buy 2)
- 🎁 $2.59 BOGO (2 for $2.59)
- Net Price: $1.29 Each > Best staple price of the week. Check the sell-by dates before you commit to two — a half gallon each is realistic for most households, but this only pays off if you use both.
20. Frigo Cheese Heads String Cheese 12 Count — $3.25 Each (Buy 2)
- 🎁 $6.49 BOGO (2 for $6.49)
- Net Price: $3.25 Each > 24 sticks total for $6.49, about $0.27 per stick — solid lunchbox math.
21. Babybel Cheese 12 Count — $4.39 Each (Buy 2)
- 🎁 $8.79 BOGO (2 for $8.79)
- Net Price: $4.39 Each
Rebate Apps You Need This Week
- Ibotta — Carries 7 of this week's deals, including the $2 Greenfield rebate that drops protein kits to $0.49 and the $1 that makes Cinnamon Pebbles $0.99. Check your Bonuses tab before you shop — clearing a rebate-count bonus can add $5 or more on top.
- Fetch Rewards — Just scan your receipt. The General Mills deal pays 1,000 points for buying 4, worth about $0.74 if you redeem toward a $5 Kroger gift card.
- Social Nature — No Kroger offers tied to this week's list, but worth checking for free product offers before your trip.
- Kroger app — Not optional this week. Three of the four events require clipping coupons in the app before you check out, and nothing rings up at these prices otherwise. > No BeFrugal offers this week. If you've been running the BeFrugal moneymakers from our recent Kroger posts, there's nothing new to stack there right now.
New to Kroger Deal Stacking?
Kroger is the most stack-friendly of the major grocery chains, but only if you understand the coupon types:
- Clip everything in the app before you leave home. Kroger digital coupons must be clipped to your loyalty card before checkout. There's no clipping after the fact, and no cashier override.
- Learn the store vs. manufacturer difference. Store coupons stack with manufacturer coupons. Two manufacturer coupons never stack on one item. Weekly Digital Deals and 5X Digital coupons are store coupons — that's what makes them valuable.
- Rebate apps stack on top of everything. Ibotta and Fetch are not coupons; they pay you back after purchase, so they combine with any coupon type.
- Watch the 5-use cap. Weekly Digital and 5X Digital coupons work up to five times per transaction. That's a stock-up opportunity on items like the $0.99 Pedialyte — but it doesn't extend to manufacturer coupons attached to the same item.
- Count your Mega and $0.99 items separately. Each event has its own minimum. Missing the Mega 3-item minimum costs you $2 per item, which is usually worse than skipping the deal.
- Scan your loyalty card first. Every price in this post is a loyalty price. No card, no deals.
- Check your receipt before you leave. With four overlapping events, mis-rings are common. It's much easier to fix at the customer service desk than after you've driven home.
Tips for This Week's Kroger Run
- Build your Mega order first. With 9 Mega items available, the easiest qualifying combination is 4 boxes of General Mills cereal — that alone clears the 3-item minimum and delivers the best per-unit stack in the post.
- The $0.99 Sale is the real stock-up play. Five shelf-stable pantry items for $4.95 total. Mustard, BBQ sauce, pasta sauce, and Manwich all keep for a year or more, so buy for the pantry, not the week.
- Print the Pop Tarts coupon before you go. The $1 off 2 is a Kellanova printable, not an app coupon. Forget it and you pay $4.58 instead of $3.58.
- Do the Colgate deal once, then decide. One tube at $0.99 is the headline. Additional tubes at roughly $2.99 are still decent but not the same deal, so don't plan on five at $0.99.
- Grab 5 Pedialyte at $0.99. The Weekly Digital Deal allows five uses and needs no stack. It stores indefinitely and there's no downside to having it on hand.
- Verify every coupon type before you build a stack. Not every digital coupon in the Kroger app is a store coupon. If it's a manufacturer coupon, you can't add another coupon to that item — which changes the math on any deal you were planning around it.
- BOGOs mean buying two. Milk at $1.29 and apple juice at $1.50 only work if you actually use both. Check dates on the dairy.
- Kroger's ad week runs Wednesday through Tuesday, so these prices are good 08/19 through 08/25. The Mega Event and $0.99 Sale usually run the full week, but the best clearance and the popular cereal varieties go early.
