Think outside the box and inside the bucket! Cinemark is celebrating National Popcorn Day on Jan. 18–19 by letting you bring your own container to be filled with buttery goodness for just $5.

Cinemark is taking "movie snacks" to a whole new level for National Popcorn Day 2026. For two days only, the theater chain is reviving its viral Bring Your Own Bucket promotion. For a flat fee of $5, you can bring almost any container from home and have it topped off with Cinemark’s signature buttery popcorn.
Last year, fans got incredibly creative, bringing everything from storage bins to slow cookers. This year, the rules remain simple: as long as your container is clean and holds less than 400 ounces, it’s eligible for the $5 fill-up.
How to Claim
- Mark the Dates: This "Bring Your Own Bucket" (BYOB) event runs all day on Sunday, Jan. 18, and Monday, Jan. 19, 2026.
- Find a Vessel: Bring any clean, leak-proof container from home (totes, pots, or even a clean trash can).
- The $5 Fill: Head to the concession stand and pay just $5 to have your container filled.
- The Limit: Standard containers are limited to 400 oz (about two XL popcorns).
- No Bucket? No Problem: All standard popcorn sizes at the theater will also be just $5 for everyone during these two days.
- Dine-In Only: This deal is valid for in-theater purchases only; mobile and delivery orders are excluded.
The Lowe’s "Secret" 5-Gallon Hack
If 400 ounces isn't enough for you, there is a massive exception to the rule this year. Cinemark has partnered with Lowe’s to push the limits of the holiday.
If you bring in an official blue Lowe’s 5-gallon bucket, Cinemark will waive the 400-ounce limit and fill the entire 640-ounce bucket for the same $5 price. As an added bonus, guests who use the Lowe’s bucket will receive a special coupon valid for a future popcorn purchase in February.
